An update for the CES PTO

We want to send a MONSTROUS Thank You to all the book fair coordinators, volunteers, GRAND Breakfast helpers, Open House volunteers, CES Staff and Admin for a great week! We hope everyone had a great time!

The Spooktacular Halloween Party at Mel’s Downtown Creamery will be 10/27 from 5-9pm. Join us at Mel’s for treats, gams, crafts and more to benefit the CES PTO!

Dear CES Families,

We are excited to announce that our Veterans Day Celebration will take place on Monday, November 10th, at 9:00 a.m. Afternoon preschool students are welcome to attend with their families.

We consider this a very important celebration. It provides our PreK–2 students with an opportunity to learn about veterans and express gratitude to those who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces to protect our freedoms.

To make our program especially meaningful, we would like to honor CES families and staff members who have veterans in their family. Please help us by completing the attached star.  Stars will also be sent home with your child.
If you’d like, you may also include a photo—such as:

  • A family member in the Armed Forces

  • Your child reading a book about Veterans Day or heroes

  • Your child smiling next to a veteran

  • A student painting or creating an American flag

The possibilities are endless!

Please send the completed star and/or photo to your child’s classroom teacher by Monday, November 3rd. These will be proudly displayed in our hallway for everyone to enjoy. If you would like your picture returned, please write your child’s name and teacher’s name on the back of the photo.

If a family member is a veteran or is currently serving in the Armed Forces and would like to participate in our ceremony, please let them know they are invited to join us for light refreshments at 8:30 a.m. in the CES cafeteria prior to the event. We invite and encourage them to wear their uniform that day.

To show school-wide support, all students are encouraged to wear red, white, and/or blue on November 10th as we honor our veterans together.  Thank you for your cooperation and support as we celebrate this important day.
