What a treat! Governor Ned Lamont visited, along with Superintendent Dan Sullivan and a few of our Board of Education members. He, along with Principal O’Meara, spent time reading with Kindergarten students.
CELIAC STRONG DAY, TUESDAY, MAY 16, 2023
On Tuesday, May 16, in recognition of International Celiac Disease Awareness Day, the Celiac Disease Foundation (CDF) will be supporting schools and students nationwide for their third annual awareness day called Celiac Strong Day. KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION 2023 - 24
CES will host an incoming Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.!
1st session will be held from 4:30 - 5:15 p.m. for the last names beginning with A - M.
2nd session will be held from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. for the last names beginning with N - Z.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2023 - 24
Our CPS Kindergarten Program is open to all children that turn 5 before January 1st of the year they are to attend school. There are no fees, as we are a public school. Registration opens each year in February or March. Please check the local newspaper or see www.colchesterct.org, and select the For Families tab for the Digital Backpack. For information on registration, select the Registration and Residency tab.

CES INCOMING KINDERGARTEN STORY TIME: LAST ONE! MAY 9, 2023!
Colchester Elementary School will host the “Kindergarten Story Time” Program for 4 and 5-year-old Colchester children who will be entering kindergarten during the 2023 - 2024 school year. In each of the three sessions, children will listen to books read by kindergarten teachers, while parents learn about the registration process, the kindergarten curriculum, readiness expectations, the school day, school policies, and transportation. A question and answer period will be available at each session. The children’s program will be held each month from 11:10-11:40 a.m. in the CES Media Center. Parents and children are invited to attend multiple story times. Topics for parent information change each month. No pre-registration is required. The “Kindergarten Story Time” schedule: April 4, April 25, and May 9, 2023. We look forward to meeting each of you and having your children join us at CES.
CES CLASS PLACEMENT PARENT INPUT FORM: 2023 - 24 SCHOOL YEAR
Student placement for the upcoming school year will be a team decision based on student academic performance and needs, behavior, teacher style, service needs, and classroom designs. At CES, we welcome parent input regarding their child’s learning environment. We do not accept requests for specific teachers. Your request will be given serious consideration, however, completion of this form does not guarantee a specific class placement. CES Class Placement Parent Input Forms are due no later than May 5, 2023.
